How to glaze a balcony with your own hands
The glazed balcony serves as a good protection against noise and dust. Experts are sure that 70% of the heat is lost through the balcony. Some do not start the process of warming, because they do not know how to glaze the balcony with their own hands. It is really not so simple, it is better to entrust the warm glazing of loggias with the installation of heating radiators and additional lighting to specialists.
Currently, there is a huge selection of window systems: PVC, aluminum and wood. Now, wooden frames are made of glued beams, they do not deform under the influence of moisture. The combustibility of wood is reduced by impregnation with an anti-foam compound. Thanks to innovations, wooden frames have become the most expensive way of glazing.
Aluminum profile is good for everyone, but does not retain heat. In winter, the temperature on the glazed balcony will be no more than five degrees higher than the street temperature.
The best option for glazing – PVC profile frames. They are aesthetic, durable, environmentally friendly and do not require special care. The more cameras in the profile, the warmer the balcony will be.
But the loggia will become full-fledged only after the floor, ceiling, facade and sides are insulated. Styrofoam or mineral wool is often used as insulation. Effective insulation – foil-insulated. This modern material does not reflect ultraviolet and does not accumulate moisture.
Special foam or sealant is an important component in sealing a balcony. In the process of work, the formation of seams and cracks is possible. Sealant treatment will prevent heat leakage and moisture ingress.
The loggia can be supplemented by heating with an electric fireplace.
The inner lining is often made of plastic panels. They are practical, convenient and inexpensive. The lining is sensitive to changes in temperature and humidity, so its use is not the best finishing option for a balcony.
But whichever option you choose, you will get an additional area, reliably protected from noise, dust and cold.
